Dear Formula SAE Community,
I'm thrilled to share some exciting highlights from this week's endeavors as we continue to push forward.
Streamlining Operations:
Last week posed challenges with our documentation, storage, and software platforms. After encountering licensing issues and technical difficulties, the team made the bold decision to transition to Microsoft SharePoint. Despite the complexity of this change at a critical juncture in our vehicle development process, Autonomous Lead Karthik Sunderason's exceptional efforts ensured a smooth transition. His swift action and dedication deserve recognition, as they have minimized any negative impact on our operations.
Successful Information Sessions:
Wednesday was action-packed, starting with another successful Boosted Juices event followed by our first Information Session of the year at Kingswood. While attendance at our Kingswood session was lower than expected, it was heartening to see members taking initiative in preparing presentations. This proactive approach undoubtedly contributed to the success of our Parramatta South Information Session, which saw over 60 attendees. Special thanks to Mary Bul for presenting the Venture Makers Innovation Challenge and to Engineers Australia for providing refreshments at the Commercial Hotel for team networking.
Community Engagement at Harmony Day:
Our team led by Dhimahi Walendra, Ishan Banga, and Jade D’Souza hosted a stall at Harmony Day, serving mango lassi to attendees. I extend my gratitude to Dhyani Patel, Theo Bhat, and our new members, Stephen Arnold Anthony Raj, Shanna Moodley, and Utshaha Subedi, for their immediate willingness to support our team goals. Harmony Day at Western Sydney University saw over 500 registrations, and the positive feedback from staff and students about the energy, conversations, and inviting atmosphere was truly commendable.
Engagement at Engineers Australia's Elevation 2024:
Some of our team, including myself, attended Engineers Australia's Elevation 2024 career expo. As a long-time student ambassador for Engineers Australia, it was gratifying to witness the growth of this event and the increased participation of Western Sydney University students. I am confident that the next generation will build upon the strong foundation we've created.
Moving Forward:
As we reflect on the accomplishments of this week, let's continue to approach challenges with resilience and determination. Our collective efforts and unwavering commitment to excellence will propel us toward success.
Stay tuned for more updates, and I look forward to seeing you at our upcoming events.
Best Regards,
Bowen Fucile
