Dear Formula SAE Community,

Upon reflection on another dynamic week, Iā€™m thrilled to share some exciting highlights and upcoming events with you. Our team continues to push boundaries and inspire change, and it's truly heartening to witness the remarkable achievements of our members.

Inspiring Women in STEM:

Western Sydney Formula SAE were honored to participate in the successful WiSE Mingle Event, organized and hosted by Mandii Carr, which saw 48 women captivated by the stories of our very own Electrical Lead, Riya Kattady, Suspension Lead, Jacinta Bell, and Autonomous member Chekwube Ogugua. It's a testament to the strength and leadership of women within our university, particularly in traditionally male-dominated areas.

I commend not only the Formula SAE team members but also Linh Trinh, President of RAM, Nina Walters, Team Manager of Solar Car, Sandy Lindsay, Treasurer of the Science Society, Tangila Amin, Secretary of the Science Society, and Ashlee Leslie, Women's Representative of the Western Sydney University Student Representative Council, for their outstanding contributions.

Upcoming Information Sessions:

Thank you to the Student Clubs team in supporting us and approving the teams Information Sessions ahead of time. Join us on Wednesday, March 20th, for an in-depth look into the Formula SAE-A competition, team structure, resources, expectations, and department scopes of work.

Two sessions will be held to accommodate different schedules: the first at Kingswood building P level 1 room 24 from 2pm, and the second at Parramatta South building EA level 2 room 13 from 6pm. Don't miss this opportunity to learn more about the team and how you can get involved.

Networking Opportunity:

Following the Information Sessions, our sponsor, Engineers Australia, will be hosting a networking event at The Commercial Hotel. This will be a fantastic chance for prospective team members to connect with our leadership team. Whether you're already part of the Formula SAE team or considering joining us, I encourage you to attend and start your induction process through completing the Expression of Interest to join the team.

Mark your calendars for Thursday, March 21st, as Engineers Australia hosts the Elevation 2024 career expo. Notable industry players such as ABB, Boeing, BAE Systems, Aurecon, Schneider Electric, Downer, and more in attendance, it's an event not to be missed.

Harmony Day Celebration:

In line with our commitment to exclusivity and community engagement, we're excited to announce our participation in Harmony Day. Join us as we contribute to the festivities and engage with the community to celebrate diverse cultures on campus. We'll be serving our signature juices with a cultural twist, fostering dialogue, and exploring opportunities for future cultural celebrations.

As always, our journey is driven by our dedication to professional development and community. We are more than a Motorsport team. I'm proud to foster a diverse and multi-faceted team that transcends barriers and embodies our shared values.

Free Student Breakfasts:

As we look ahead to making a positive impact beyond our immediate sphere, I'm thrilled to share that the Formula SAE team will be lending our support to the community breakfast buffet at Parramatta City in the coming weeks.

I've always been deeply impressed by the invaluable work done by the Inclusive Communities team, fostering connections and providing comfort to those who may otherwise feel isolated. Being ethnically diverse myself, I resonate strongly with their belief in the profound connection that comes from sharing a meal together.

In continuing our support for community dinner and breakfast initiatives, we hope to inspire others to join us in making a difference. If you're interested in contributing to these wonderful initiatives aimed at providing essential support to students in need, please don't hesitate to reach out to Inclusive Communities or volunteer through the Formula SAE team by emailing wsformula@student.westernsydney.edu.au.

Our dedication to community engagement remains unwavering, and we're honored to play a part in initiatives that foster unity and support within our broader community.

Stay tuned for more updates, and I look forward to seeing you at our upcoming events.

Best Regards,

Bowen Fucile
