Dear Formula SAE Community,
I trust this message finds you all well and energized as we enter our mid-semester break. Here's the latest from our dynamic team.
Celebrating Excellence:
First and foremost, I'm thrilled to announce the well-deserved promotions within our ranks. Toby Xuereb and Bennett Cyril have showcased exceptional skill and dedication, earning them leadership positions within our Electrical department. Toby steps into the role of High Voltage Lead, while Bennett steps into the role of Low Voltage Lead, both under the guidance of Riya Louis Kattady. Their contributions are invaluable, and their leadership will undoubtedly steer us towards even greater success.
Milestone Achievements:
Our Powertrain department, spearheaded by Mikail Boncukcular, has achieved a significant milestone securing an internal combustion engine despite the myriad challenges faced this year. With the unwavering support of George Triantopolous, Jing En, and Manraj Bhamra, the department has seen remarkable growth, setting the stage for our continued success. Recognizing their efforts is paramount, and I commend the entire team for their resilience and determination.
Embracing Industry Insights:
Operating within the Factory of the Future at Western Sydney University has provided unparalleled opportunities for growth and learning for myself. Last week, I had the privilege of attending Australian Manufacturing Week in its entirety representing the university and our mission at Factory of the Future. The experience allowed me to immerse myself in emerging technologies and industry trends, further enriching our approach at Western Sydney Formula SAE with this experience being shared with Kilian Doyle, Toby Xuereb, Riya Kattady, and Quoc Hung Tran when they joined me on the second day of the expo.
Australian Manufacturing Week showcases the latest innovations, technologies and equipment in the advanced manufacturing sector with exhibitors including large names such as Omron, Trotec, Alfex, Emona, BAC Systems, Bosch Australia Manufacturing Solutions, CAPRAL, CSIRO Manufacturing. It also gave us an opportunity to meet with our sponsor Leap Australia and learn the latest of their involvement in industy.
Industry Engagement:
Our commitment to fostering industry partnerships and knowledge exchange is yielding remarkable results. The overwhelming interest in our upcoming Vehicle Dynamics Seminar, co-hosted with OptimumG, is a testament to our team's dedication and passion. With almost double the expected number of registrations, our seminar is set to be a resounding success. I must acknowledge Has Gardige's fervor for vehicle dynamics and motorsport, which has played a pivotal role in driving this initiative forward.
Team Spirit and Resilience:
Despite facing availability shortages, our team continues to excel. I extend heartfelt appreciation to Jade D'Souza and Toby Xuereb for their outstanding efforts in organizing our largest Boosted Juices event to date. With 70 enthusiastic attendees, their hard work and dedication have truly made a difference.
Moving Forward:
As we navigate the road ahead, let us remain united in our pursuit of excellence. Together, we possess the talent, determination, and spirit to overcome any obstacle and achieve remarkable feats.
Best Regards,
Bowen Fucile
